A festival for dogs is coming to the North East

On Saturday 7th September Kirkley Hall in Ponteland will welcome 1000’s of dogs to one of the region's biggest festivals of its kind - specially designed just for dogs. Bringing together people from all over the North with one thing in common….their love of dogs! Unlike anything else in the North, your dog could try their paw at have-a-go activities such as temptation alley, fastest recall, agility, hoopers, canicross, flyball and more.

Plus the ever popular charity dog shows will return with lots of fabulous prizes up for grabs, can your dog win the coveted Best In Show title? The demonstration marquee will return with a host of expert speakers and new activities such as whippet racing will be on display. Visitors can explore the clever canines village, sporting dog village, health village and more across the rural venue.

One of the main attractions for this year is The East Anglian Staffordshire Bull Terrier Display Team who are performing in the North East for the very first time. The super staffies are Crufts main ring regulars and will showcase a range of exciting skills and games in this year’s main ring.

One of the festival founders; Dawn Oliver commented; “Our first festival at Kirkley Hall was a roaring, or should we say barking? success; with over 5000 visitors (and just as many dogs) enjoying a fabulous day out. The feedback was amazing and we can’t wait to show people what we have planned for this year. The festival is unlike anything else in the North East - organised for dog people - by dog people.
