does your dog have what it takes?
The charity dog shows form an integral part of the North East Dog Festival. For years charities have raised thousands for their individual causes with hundreds of dogs taking part in a fantastic range of classes.
This year we welcome the team from Northumberland Dog Rescue to the festival for the first time.
Introducing the charity
Northumberland Dog Rescue is an established, volunteer-led charity committed to rescuing, rehabilitating, and rehoming dogs across the region—from Newcastle upon Tyne to Berwick upon Tweed. They work closely with local authorities, veterinary practices, and neighbouring welfare organisations to ensure that every dog in their care has the best possible chance of finding a forever home.

The charity takes a thoughtful and thorough approach to rehoming. With a robust adoption process and lifetime rescue back-up, they ensure that every match is right for both dog and owner. Their dedicated team—made up of kennel volunteers, fundraisers, fosterers, and staff—goes above and beyond to care for the dogs they support.

Our rehoming area is from Newcastle upon Tyne to Berwick upon Tweed as we offer full rescue back up for the dog's lifetime.
