introducing our gundog zone
sponsored by
At NordicDogs, I offer 1-1 sessions, group classes, and bespoke training programmes from my dedicated training field in County Durham. Whether you’re looking to address specific behaviour challenges, build a strong foundation with a new puppy, or explore gundog skills, I’m here to help. While many of my clients come to me in Durham, I also travel across the North East, including Newcastle, Sunderland, and surrounding areas, to support dogs and their owners in their own environments. I specialise in helping working breeds adapt successfully to pet homes, making sure their natural instincts are channelled in the right way. My approach is friendly, positive, and tailored to both the dog and owner — no one-size-fits-all methods here.
Come and have a go....
Whether you have a gundog breed or not, there’s something for every dog in our activity area. We’ve got exciting challenges and games that are open to all — whether you’re coming for friendly competition or just want to have a go for fun. It’s a welcoming space to try something new and let your dog do what they love most.

Why did you decide to get involved with the festival?
I’ve supported the festival for several years now through the Gundog ‘Have a Go’ area, and it’s always been a highlight of my calendar. With this year marking the festival’s 10th anniversary, it felt like the perfect time to take on a bigger role and really celebrate everything the dog community has achieved. It’s a brilliant event that brings together people who are passionate about dogs, learning, and having fun.
What are you most excited to see at the festival?
The Gundog and Lure areas, of course ;-) Watching dogs tap into their instincts and having a great time is what it’s all about — plus, it’s fantastic to see owners connect with their dogs in new ways.
What makes your business unique?
At NordicDogs, everything starts with understanding the dog in front of me. My training isn’t about quick fixes or generic methods — it’s about using each dog’s natural instincts and breed traits to shape behaviour in a way that works for both the dog and the owner. With a strong foundation in gundog training and over a decade of experience, I specialise in helping working breeds thrive in modern pet homes. Clients come to me because they know they’ll be heard, their dog will be seen as an individual, and the support they get will be honest, knowledgeable, and tailored. It’s not just about teaching obedience — it’s about building connection, confidence, and lasting change.

NordicDogs is all about helping working breeds live happy, contented lives in pet homes. I give owners the tools, understanding, and confidence to support their dogs’ natural instincts in a healthy and rewarding way.
