The North Dog Festival welcomes Northumberland Dog Rescue.

Every year The North East Dog Festival welcomes charities from across the region; this incudes discounted trading rates, space for have a go fundraising activities and of course our dog shows.

The charity dog shows are an integral part of the Festival and over the last decade charities have raised thousands for their individual causes with hundreds of dogs taking part.

We’re thrilled to announce that Northumberland Dog Rescue will be joining us at this year’s North East Dog Festival for the first time! As one of our charity dog show partners, they’ll be hosting their very own dog show across the weekend.

Northumberland Dog Rescue is a dedicated local charity committed to rescuing, rehabilitating, and rehoming dogs in need across the region. Their team works tirelessly to give every dog a second chance, and we’re proud to support their mission by providing a platform for them to raise funds and awareness.

Their charity dog show will feature a variety of fun and friendly classes—from Best Rescue and Waggiest Tail to Golden Oldie and Fancy Dress. It’s a fantastic opportunity for festival-goers to show off their canine companions, win some rosettes, and support a great cause in the process.

Festival directors Rebecca Ashworth Earle and Dawn Oliver Doyle commented;

“When we created the festival, we always knew we wanted to provide the infrastructure for charities to run dog shows and raise funds at no cost to them. The festival welcomes thousands of visitors every year, and what better way to incorporate not only the opportunity for people to show off their dogs but also support charities in the process. We’re excited to welcome Northumberland Dog Rescue to the festival family and look forward to seeing dog sporting gorgeous rosettes"

It's such a huge event that will give our small rescue massive exposure to the people of the North East and give us chance to meet lots of people and their lovely dogs. We are based in North Northumberland , we take in all breeds of dog and take the time to really get to know each individual dog , work through their issues with them and then match them to the best home to meet their needs and give them the home for life they deserve. Dog shows run throughout the weekend with a range of classes. Each class has a start time and can be entered via registration at the corresponding charity dog show area on the day. Dog shows are rope fenced and entry fees may vary from show to show and are set by the charities not the festival. All 1st place winners can visit the stewards area with their 1st place rosette to choose a limited edition festival character pin badge. Please note that timings are approximate and classes may be subject to change.
