Let Your Dog Join the Fun! in partnership with Mains Cottages & Shepherds Retreats

One of the best things about our festival is that it isn't just a day out for your dog – it's a day out with your dog.
Our Have a Go Activities, proudly sponsored by Mains Cottages & Shepherds Retreats, give dogs of all ages, breeds and abilities the chance to discover a new hobby, build confidence and, most importantly, have lots of fun together.
Whether your dog loves to run, sniff, jump, retrieve or simply learn something new, there's an activity waiting to be explored.
From energetic sports to confidence-building games, our hand-picked clubs and instructors will be on hand throughout the weekend to introduce you and your dog to a fantastic range of activities, including:

Many of these activities are suitable for complete beginners, so don't worry if you've never tried them before. Our experienced instructors will guide you every step of the way. Find out more
A Few Things to Know
Some Have a Go activities may charge a small fee to take part. These charges are set by the individual clubs and are often used to support their activities or chosen charities, so we recommend bringing a little cash along just in case. Activity availability and charges may vary.
We're delighted to have Mains Cottages & Shepherds Retreats supporting our Have a Go Activities for 2026. Their support helps us bring together an incredible range of clubs, trainers and instructors, giving visitors the chance to try new sports and learn new skills. PLUS it also means we have hundreds of have a go certificates to give out and rosettes for fastest times in some of the activities.
But I'm not bringing my dog/my dog doesn't like doing activities!
Not every activity will be the perfect fit for every dog, and that's absolutely okay. Our clubs and instructors are always happy to chat about your dog's age, breed, personality and experience to help you decide which activities might suit them best.
Even if you're not bringing your dog to the festival, watching the demonstrations, speaking to the instructors and learning about the different sports is a great way to discover what's available in your area.
