Celebrity judges announced for North East Dog Festival

Celebrity judges announced

for North East Dog Festival

On Saturday 7th September Kirkley Hall in Ponteland will welcome 1000’s of dogs to one of the region's biggest festivals of its kind - specially designed just for dogs. Bringing together people from all over the North with one thing in common….their love of dogs! The dog shows are always one of the most popular attractions at the festival and this year will be no exception with the addition of some TV celebrities!

Visit the festival this year and enter your dog into the charity dog show being run by Street Paws and it may just be a famous face that is doing the judging. Street Paws; a charity founded in Newcastle in April 2016, provide monthly outreach in 21 locations in the UK. Street Paws promotes animal welfare and relieves the suffering of animals by providing free of charge veterinary care and emergency kennel provision to animals owned by people who are homeless, vulnerably housed or other vulnerable groups severely affected by poverty.

The North East Dog Festival is a great platform for charities such as Street Paws and hope plenty of money will be raised on the day for such a worthy cause. Not only does your dog have the chance of winning some great prizes, or being named as Show Champion, but they also get to rub shoulders with some fabulous celebrity judges. Joining the Street Paws judging team this year is TV stars Dr. Scott Miller of ITV This Morning and Channel 4 Vet On The Hill and Cat Hensridge, also known as ‘Cat The Vet’' CBBC The Pets Factor. As well as that, local dog expert and Street Paws Trustee Sue McCabe of Muttamorphosis will be on hand on the judging panel.

Michelle Southern, Founder & Director of Street Paws commented “Street Paws are delighted to be holding a Dog Show at the festival this year and having our celebrity charity patrons as guest judges is a real honour."

So whether you’ve got the most handsome dog, the best biscuit catcher or an all round cutey, get yourself along and enter classes on the day. The dog show is kindly being sponsored by Black Storm Brewery who will also be there to support the show.
