This year we are excited to announce that Hatton's Hungry Hounds will be joining The North East Dog Festival as sponsor for the Newcastle Dog and Cat Shelter Dog Show.
This will be their first time sponsoring at the festival, and they’ve chosen to back one of the most paw-pular parts of the weekend – one of our charity dog shows. From best rescue to waggiest tail, golden oldie to fancy dress, the shows are a huge hit with visitors and give everyone a chance to get involved (and maybe even take home a rosette or two!). Take a look at the classes here.
Hatton’s Hungry Hounds is a brilliant local business with a passion for natural, healthy food and treats for dogs. Based in Northumberland, they’re all about giving your four-legged friends the best - which of course sits with us perfectly! You’ll be able to meet the Hatton’s team over the weekend, browse their fab selection of treats, and chat to them about all things natural. Just look for the bright orange marquee!
Directors Rebecca Ashworth Earle and Dawn Oliver Doyle commented; “When we created the festival we always knew we wanted to provide the infrastructure for charities to run dog shows and raise funds at no cost to them; the festival welcomes thousands of visitors every year and what better way to incorporate not only the opportunity for people to show off their dogs, but also support charities in the process. This year we are very lucky to have the support of local business Hatton's Hungry Hounds, who are sponsoring the Newcastle Dog and Cat Shelter Dog Show".
Introducing the charity
Newcastle Dog & Cat Shelter helps animals that are lost, unwanted, neglected, abused and abandoned. They reunite lost animals with their owners and find loving new homes for those no longer wanted.
"Our objective is the promotion of kindness and prevention of cruelty to animals. We reunite lost animals with their owners and find loving new homes for those no longer wanted." NDCS
Festival directors commented "We are over the moon to have the team from Newcastle Dog and Cat Shelter joining us again, this will be their third year and we are always grateful for the support our visitors show. Last year they raised over £2500 so we hope they can beat that this year. A huge thank you to Hatton's Hungry Hounds who are sponsoring their charity dog show; this support means there are hundreds of rosettes to be won "
