Whether you’re a dog lover, thinking of getting a dog, or just looking for a fun-filled weekend, this festival has something for everyone!

What to Expect
Have a go Activities; One of the festival’s biggest draws is the chance for every dog to join in the fun with a huge range of Have-a-Go Activities. Across the weekend, dogs of all ages and abilities can try their paws at agility, flyball, hoopers, scentwork, mantrailing, parkour, trick training, fastest recall, temptation alley and more. Smaller dogs are catered for too with dedicated “Small Paws” games, while the CaniSports area offers canicross and a mini UltiMutt trail. Find out more here

Main Arena Highlights; The Main Arena, sponsored by Northumberland College’s Kirkley Hall Campus, will showcase an array of thrilling performances, including The Drakes of Hazard Sheepdog display. Returning crowd favourites like the Walworth Birds of Prey and the Kipperridge Gundogs will also take the stage. New for this year is the North East Counties Working Trials Society with their working dog display and TV Star Chloé Nerina Fuller and her super Spaniels. Grab the timetable here

The Wellness Tipi; The Wellness Tipi, sponsored by Pawsitive Relief, returns to the North East Dog Festival with a packed weekend of inspiring talks and demonstrations. Highlights include Dr Emma Rogers-Smith of Pawsitive Relief on recognising pain in dogs and the benefits of veterinary acupuncture, plus sessions from charities such as the National Foundation for Retired Service Animals. All talks are included free with festival entry, offering dog owners valuable knowledge in a relaxed, welcoming space. Take a look at the timetable here

Dog Shows; For those who love a bit of friendly competition, the festival offers two charity dog shows, Newcastle Dog and Cat Shelter Dog Show sponsored by Hatton’s Hungry Hounds and Northumberland Dog Rescue Dog Show. Clever K9 Ring; New for 2025, the Clever K9 Ring brings free, bite-sized training sessions. Led by professional trainers and canine behaviour experts, the sessions are designed to be fun, practical and accessible for all.
